"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." Albert Einstein
Thomas Edison used self-hypnosis to solve state-of-the-art problems.
What is the Success Rate of Hypnosis?
According to a comparison study reported in American Health Magazine, after 600 sessions of psychoanalysis, clients experienced a 38% recovery rate; after 22 sessions of behavioral therapy, clients experienced a 72% recovery rate; but after only 6 sessions of hypnotherapy, clients experienced a 93% recovery rate. We usually don't need to see clients that many times.
How Does Hypnosis Work?
Our mind works on two levels—we have the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. We make decisions and make plans with the conscious mind and the conscious mind is also where our willpower is located. The conscious mind knows it wants to stop doing a harmful or unbeneficial behavior, but the subconscious mind is the part that runs on auto-pilot. When we attempt to make changes with our willpower, we have to stop and think about it. And so it may feel like there is a conflict or fight going on in our head.
The subconscious mind is the part of our mind that is really in control. It controls our habits, memories, feelings, emotions. The subconscious mind runs our body, our autonomic nervous system. In the relaxed state known as hypnosis, we can work directly with the subconscious mind and change the way we feel and our behavior and that is why it is so easy to break unhealthy habits with hypnotherapy.
Is Hypnosis Safe?
There has never been one documented claim of anyone being harmed by hypnosis. The client is aware and in control at every moment and can terminate the session at any time. Hypnosis is not sleep, nor can one get “stuck” in a state of hypnosis just as you can not get stuck in "sleep". In Hypnosis, your senses become heightened and more acute. Of course, if a person is tired, it is possible to fall asleep during hypnosis but then they would no longer be in hypnosis. You can not be made to do something against your will. Hypnosis is a safe, natural, relaxing, and enjoyable experience.
